It was a great week for Brandon Valley’s competitive cheerleaders and coaches, who brought home the BV’s fifth ESD Conference title over the last six seasons Oct. 12 in Huron.
“The girls performed their best routines of the season this week, hitting skills we have struggled with for much of the season,” said cheer coach Katee Lane.
BV’s cheer team is the reigning state champ. The ESD conference title is a much-needed boost as the squad heads into the state championships Oct. 21 in Rapid City.
“Of course we are aiming for back-to-back state titles, and finishing strong in both conferences shows that this is certainly an attainable goal,” said Lane, who also coached the Lady Lynx to a second-place finish at the Metro Conference Oct. 9 at the Sanford Pentagon.
“This team has worked so incredibly hard and maintained a positive, upbeat attitude through all obstacles. They lift each other up and push one another to meet their goals,” Lane said. “This program would not be where it is without the amazing team atmosphere of the athletes and all that they give to the sport on a daily basis.
“Go BV, on to state!”
