The Lynx boys’ soccer team ended regular season play with a 1-0 loss to Huron Sept. 19.
Seven minutes in, the Tigers scored the only goal on a corner kick.
Both teams took 18 shots. The Lynx took six in the first half and 12 in the second, half of which were on goal.
“We had a couple really good chances to tie the game up, but the Tigers’ goalkeeper had a couple of key saves,” said BV head coach Chris Limmer. “Our best chance came in the dying seconds of the game when Wyatt Haas took the ball down the right side of the penalty area and sent a good, firm cross in front of the goal, across the six-yard box. Lucas Johnson made a good run and slid to try to deflect the ball into the goal, but it went wide.”
BV’s Sedric Barton recorded eight saves on the night.
The Lynx end their regular season with a 5-5-2 record and 11th place in the state standings. Brandon Valley entered Class AA state playoffs on Tuesday, Sept. 26 against O’Gorman on the Knights’ turf. See next week’s BV Journal for results of the game.
