BV bowlers have mixed success on Yankton lanes

Staff report
Every pin counted for the Lady Lynx varsity 1 team’s match at Yankton on Friday. And after the final ball of the match was rolled, the Gazelles had earned the 13½-11½ victory. Sophomore Kayla Watkins’ 194 game and 563 series led the way for the Lady Lynx. Alexis Shea added a season-best 517 series.
Because Yankton has just three girls competing this season, BV’s varsity 2 girls simply had to beat the default score of 100, and they were able to do just that in every game but one, resulting in a 24½-½ victory.
Junior K.J. Klockman’s 147 game and 383 series highlighted the effort.
The Lynx varsity boys produced a variety of high scores. Senior Darian Blue rolled a 247 game to support his season-best 644 series. Unfortunately, Blue’s effort wasn’t enough, as Yankton took the 16-9 win.
That was the same margin BV’s varsity 2 boys lost by, despite junior Trey Reindl shooting a 223 game and 610 series. Freshman Maxwell Kane rolled three games over 200 for his season-best 631 series.
The Holm brothers – Kaleb, a sophomore, and Noah, a senior – teamed up as JV 1 to capture a 20-5 win. Kaleb contributed a 180 game and Noah had a 506 series.
The JV 2 boys also won 18-7. Eighth-grader Ian Erickson rolled his first-ever 200 game, ending with 207, and junior Colton Bultje added a 200 game and 535 series.
The Lynx head into a four-week home stand, starting Friday at 4 p.m. when they host the Harrisburg Tigers at Empire Bowl in Sioux Falls.
