Brandon puts out call for new police chief

Staff report
The Brandon City Council approved a job description for Brandon’s new police chief at its Nov. 5 meeting.
The individual will replace Chief Dave Kull, who submitted his resignation to the city Oct. 15 with a retirement date of late April.
City administrator Bryan Read briefed the council on the timeline for hiring the position, which allows a few months for Kull’s replacement to job shadow.
The city plans to accept applications through Nov. 30, review submissions in early December and hold the first and second rounds of interviews in late December and early January.
The targeted hiring date is by the Jan. 21 council meeting, Read said.
Kull will retire after serving 10 years as Brandon Police Chief.
