Brandon Fire Dept. fields 47 calls in July

Volunteers with the Brandon Fire Department were summoned to 47 calls from June 26 to July 30, according to department chief Robert Dykstra.
The 47 calls consisted of two fire calls, one a structure fire, and the other a vehicle fire, 32 EMS-related calls, and 13 other calls (accidents, etc.). 
Department volunteers also assisted with one weather spotting incident, recorded two Priority 1 calls (imminent life or death) and 27 Priority 2 calls (emergency with lights and sirens), and 18 Priority 3 calls (non-emergency, no lights or sirens). Of the 47 calls, 36 were within the city limits of Brandon and 11 calls were in the county. The Department provided aid once, which was to Sioux Falls Fire Rescue for a structure fire. 
To date, the Brandon Fire Department has responded to a total of 374 (October 2018-July 2019). In comparison to last year at this same time, the projected total between 440 and 450 calls, is within range of last year’s 466 calls.
