Brandon Lions meet Sept. 21
The Brandon Lions Club is welcoming new members and meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month at Pizza Ranch, Brandon. 
In addition to helping fund requests for vision and hearing impairment needs, the Lions issue grants for emergency disaster relief, including, most recently, Hurricane Harvey. 
Donations of aluminum cans may be dropped off at the Lions shed in the Sunshine Foods parking lot, Brandon.

Randy’s Warriors ‘It’s All Good’ Pork Feed 
Family and friends of Randy “Beaner” Anderson are hosting a pork feed and silent auction Friday, Sept. 22, from 5-9 p.m. at the Big Red Barn, 48148 258th St., Brandon. Proceeds will go toward medical expenses for Anderson, who was diagnosed with tongue cancer. Entry is a free will donation. Anderson and his wife, Brenda, attend church in Brandon and graduated two daughters from BVHS.

God, Girlfriends & Chocolate on Sept. 23
A women’s brunch and fundraiser for missions to Haiti will be held 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Celebration United Methodist Church, Brandon. 
The brunch will feature keynote speaker Gaye Lindfors, vendor booths, door prizes and raffle tickets for a “pamper yourself” basket. 
Tickets to God, Girlfriends & Chocolate are $30 before Sept. 16 and $35 at the door. Call Julie Johnson at (605) 366-1363 or the church office at (605) 582-7995. 
 
Brandon Legion Post 318 raffle tickets
American Legion Post 318 of Brandon is conducting its annual 52-Week Cash Raffle. The first raffle is Sept. 29, and winning tickets will be drawn on the first Tuesday of each month, which is the Legion’s monthly meeting date. Proceeds from the raffle will be directed the Legion Club’s building fund.

BCF accepting grants through Sept. 29
The Brandon Community Foundation is accepting grant applications through Sept. 29 from Brandon area 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations that strive to improve quality of life for all ages in the arts, recreation, education, health and public safety.

Family Fun Fest Oct. 1
Enjoy old-fashioned game and food at Family Fun Fest, set for 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at McHardy Park. Sponsored by Hoover’s Martial Arts, Circuit Fitness and the Brandon EDGE, the fee is $5 per person or a donation to the Brandon Area Food Pantry.
