Bob L. Harvey, 88

Memorial services for Bob L. Harvey, 88, of Sioux Falls, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Hope Lutheran Church with private interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. 

Mr. Harvey passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at Bethany Home Brandon. 

He was born to Lowell and Harriett (Jester) Harvey on July 6, 1929, in Valley Springs. He moved to Sioux Falls and received his education, graduating from Washington High School. Bob enlisted with the United States Air Force in 1947 and served in the Korean War. He was united in marriage with Dorothy Jacobson on June 16, 1951, in Sioux Falls. After he was honorably discharged in 1955, the family returned to Sioux Falls where Bob began working with American Freight. Bob transferred to K & J Trucking until retiring. 

He was a charter member of Hope Lutheran Church. He was also a part of the American Legion, VFW, the Elks and the Galesburg reunions. Bob enjoyed following Cardinals baseball and the Florida Gators. 

He is survived by his son, Jeff Harvey and his wife Sandy, Las Vegas; daughters, Janis (Priamo) Mena,  Gainesville, Fla., and Julie (Scott) Christie, Sioux Falls; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends. 

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy, brothers Lee, Lyle, and Verl, and sisters Blanche Falor and Evelyn Pelley.
