Bill Smith, 83

Funeral Mass for William “Bill” David Smith, 83, of Sioux Falls, was held Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, at The Church of St. Mary with burial at St. Michael Cemetery.

Mr. Smith died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Burkey Smith of Sioux Falls; six children, Curtis (Ann) Smith of Shoreview, Minn., Tom (Jackie) Smith of Ft. Pierre, Michelle (Lee) Hughes of Lakeville, Minn., Bob (Julie) Smith of Sioux Falls, Danielle (Fabien) Ponson of Edina, Minn., and Ryan (Dawn) Smith of Sioux Falls; daughter-in-law, Ofelia Smith of Kenosha, Wis.; 23 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Darlene Phelps of Colman, Wilma Shaffer of Chamberlain, and Betty DeBoer of Brandon; brother, Jim Smith of Colman; and a host of other relatives and friends.
