For basketball junkies, March Madness is a major high

If you like high school and college basketball and live in Brandon, the next few weeks will be full of excitement and fun. Both of Brandon Valley Lynx teams and all four of South Dakota’s Division 1 college teams are heading into tournament play with high expectations.
The Summit league tips off Saturday at the Sanford Premier Center and runs through next Tuesday. Hoops fans can then take a day off and head to Rapid City for the AA high school hoops tournament. 
In the Summit tournament, South Dakota State University has earned the No. 1 seed in the women’s tournament. The Lady Jacks will kick the tournament off when they take the court at noon Saturday against Purdue Fort Wayne. That game will be followed by No. 2 seed University South Dakota against North Dakota State University. 
On Saturday night, the Jackrabbits men take the court when No. 1 seed SDSU face off against Western Illinois followed by the No. 2 seed Nebraska Omaha takes on North Dakota. 
This year’s Summit League tourney has the potential to be the most exciting ever and tickets are remains available at the Sanford Premier Center.
