Bre Langenhorst locked in three goals in a mere four minutes to cinch the Brandon Valley varsity soccer team’s 3-0 shutout over Brookings last week in Eastern South Dakota Conference action.
Although it wasn’t exactly “pretty” at times, Brandon Valley claimed the all-important “W” at Saturday’s 19th Annual Pigskin Classic, capping off the Lynx spirit-filled day with a 29-21 victory.
The Brandon Valley varsity boys’ soccer team earned a 3-1 victory over Yankton on Sept. 3, thanks to two Lynx goals in the final seven minutes of play.
Something different happened at the local tennis courts last week when Brandon Valley defeated the O’Gorman girls 6-3. The victory led Lynx head coach Adam Rothenberger to describe the feat as “a rare occurrence.”
In their biggest race of the season to date, the Lynx boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams largely held their own. Behind Britton Elkin’s fourth-place run and Mia Wentzy’s 14th-place race, Brandon Valley boys captured seventh as a team and the girls claimed ninth.
